Dr. Brett Snowden is a native of Springfield, Massachusetts and is the proud pastor of the historic Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Inc., Tampa, FL.

 

Dr. Snowden is a proven pastor and denominational leader who leads with a commitment to Christ and builds ministry around transforming the lives of people through an anointed message of the gospel that promotes liberation, empowerment, deliverance and social justice. Through strong and effective leadership, he has led many to Christ, develops strong leadership teams, establishes, implements and maintains holistic ministries that address mind, body and soul, and provides an accountable administration.

Dr. Snowden is a graduate of American International College, Springfield, Massachusetts, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration. Upon graduation, he attended Hartford Seminary and earned a Master of Religious Education with a concentration in Christian Education. Additionally, Dr. Snowden graduated from Hartford Seminary and was conferred the Doctor of Ministry degree in Congregational Studies. He is also a recipient of a Doctor of Divinity degree. As a faithful steward of his life and gifts, Dr. Snowden has taught at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Boston, Massachusetts, the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Massachusetts and Hartford Seminary, Hartford, Connecticut.

 

Having a commitment to global service, Dr. Snowden is Dean of the Congress of Christian Education, Florida General Baptist Convention, Inc., served as the Congress Executive, Dean’s Office of the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc., State Congress President and State Director of Christian Education of the United Baptist Convention of Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire, Inc., State Director for the Faith-Based Development Initiative, National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc., has served as the religious editor and contributor of the Springfield community newspaper, Point of View. He has written many scholarly articles and essays for Christian publications, including his seminary address in the African American Pulpit published by Judson Press.

 

Dr. Snowden is a member of the Tampa Bay Coalition of Clergy, West Coast Baptist Association, the Florida General Baptist Convention, Inc. and Lott Carey Foreign Mission Convention.

 

He served as pastor at Union Baptist Church, New Bedford, Massachusetts, Canaan Baptist Church of Christ, Progressive Community Baptist Church in Springfield, Massachusetts, and True Faith Inspirational Baptist Church, Tampa, Florida.

 

Above all his accomplishments the love for pastoring, teaching, preaching and missions remain first in Dr. Snowden’s heart.

 

Dr. Snowden is married to Ambrozine M. Snowden. They are the proud parents of four adult children and two granddaughters.
